Johns Hopkins University ranked first among U.S. universities in research and development spending in fiscal year 2015, marking the 37th straight year the institution topped the list. Hopkins spent $2.3 billion on human health and technology projects in fiscal 2015. R&D expenditures were 2.8 percent higher than what the school spent in 2014, according to an annual report from the National Science Foundation. Bank of America Corp. (NYSE: BAC) will raise wages for hourly, non-commission employees in early 2017 to a minimum $15 an hour, up from a minimum $13.50 an hour today.
