Evergreen Health Cooperative has filed a complaint against the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in an effort to block a potential $22 million payment that the company would have to make to fellow insurer CareFirst. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court in Maryland, is designed to stop CMS from levying the fees, known as risk adjustment payments, until the formula for calculating payments charged in 2015 is changed.
