After months of contentious debate, the Baltimore City Council is set to vote Monday night on a bill to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2022. The bill would incrementally raise the minimum each fiscal year until $15 is reached in July 2022. It would then index the wage to keep pace with cost of living increases each year. A water wheel on the Canton waterfront is on the verge of being fully funded after numerous donations came through in the past few weeks to bring the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore’s fundraising effort up to 99 percent of its $550,000 goal. The new water wheel would be installed at the outfall of Harris Creek near the Boston Street Pier Park and join the world’s first water wheel that sits in the Inner Harbor.
