Under Armour Inc. CEO Kevin Plank announced Wednesday he is donating $1 million to the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In a statement, the Archdiocese says it will use the money to help fund its Partners in Excellence Scholarship Program, which is used to provide tuition assistance to elementary and high school students attending Baltimore City Catholic schools. Gov. Larry Hogan will travel to Israel later this month in an effort to attract more overseas businesses to Maryland, particularly in the areas of biotechnology and cybersecurity. Similar to Maryland, Israel has become a thriving center for biotechnology and cybersecurity, said Barry Bogage, executive director of the Maryland/Israel Development Center, the organizer of the trip.
