W.R. Grace & Co. Inc. completed its purchase on Thursday of a catalysts business from German chemical manufacturer BASF. Columbia-based Grace gains 170 employees through the deal, in addition to technology, patents, trademarks and production plants in Pasadena, Texas and Tarragona, Spain. The acquisition includes LYNX high-activity polyethylene catalyst technologies used to produce polyethylene pipe and bimodal film.
