Small accounting firms are facing an uphill climb when it comes to hiring workers out of college because of a talent shortage. Large public companies used to fill their accounting teams with workers from their auditors, or the so-called “Big Four” accounting firms: PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Deloitte LLP, Ernst and Young LLP, and KPMG LLP.
