Safeway’s parent company, Albertson’s, has named Dan Valenzuela as the new president of its Eastern division, replacing Steve Burnham in the grocer’s top job for the Baltimore-Washington region. Valenzuela’s new role is effective immediately. He comes from the company’s Seattle division, where he has been president since 2014, the year Albertsons Cos. acquired Safeway.
