Ober Kaler, Baltimore’s fourth-largest law firm, plans to merge with with Memphis-based Baker Donelson to form one of the the 50 largest firms in the U.S. The deal is anticipated to take effect Jan. 1. The combined firm will maintain the Baker Donelson name and have more than 800 attorneys and advisers across 25 offices in nine states as well as Washington, D.C.
