One of Baltimore’s most prominent buildings is going on the auction block next week. The Latrobe Building at 2 E. Read St. in Mount Vernon is scheduled to be sold at a foreclosure auction Sept. 27 on the steps of the Clarence M. Mitchell Courthouse. Also to be auctioned is the property’s ground rent lease. Alex Cooper Auctioneers is handling the sale. The nine-story building was built in an Italian Renaissance architectural style in 1911. It replaced a Civil War era apartment house at the site…
