McCormick & Co. Inc. is building out its war chest in the fight against fresh herbs, announcing Tuesday a $114 million acquisition of the Australian company that makes a line of packaged herbs. The deal, for the Queensland-based, privately owned Botanical Food Co. Pty Ltd., is set to give Sparks-based McCormick (NYSE: MKC) a chilled packaged herbs brand with annual sales of $53 million.
