Six insurance carriers are seeing rate increases ranging from 12 percent to just under 30 percent for individual health plans sold in Maryland. The proposed rate increases would bring monthly premium prices for a mid-level plan for a 40-year-old Baltimore resident to between $264 and $414. The proposed rates are subject to review and approval by the Maryland Insurance Administration. The agency expects to release final rates late summer.
