Gannett Co. has floated a proposal to buy Tribune Publishing in a $400 million deal — about $815 million when counting assumption of debt. Gannett (NYSE: GCI), based in Tysons Corner, Va., and the parent of USA Today and other properties, said on Monday that it would make an all-cash offer of $12.25 per share, above Tribune’s (NYSE: TPUB) $8.50 share price.
