W.R. Grace & Co. saw its earnings soar in the third quarter even though sales grew slower than expected. The Columbia-based chemical and materials manufacturing company reported a $39.6 million profit in the third quarter, up 187 percent from $13.8 million from a year ago. Earnings per share rose to 56 cents, up from 19 cents a year ago. Broadway Square could soon be getting a facelift. The public square, which hosts a weekly farmers market and is a central meeting place for Fells Point residents, is the subject of a request for proposals from the city’s Department of Transportation.
